Admixture For Concrete & Mortars

What is admixture?

Chemical admixtures are the ingredients in concrete other than portland cement, water, and aggregate that are added to the mix immediately before or during mixing. Admixtures can provide several benefits for concrete and other building materials. They can improve the strength and durability of the material, reduce the amount of water needed in the mix, improve workability and completion, and provide other performance benefits.

Types of Admixtures (Based On Using)

 Plasticizer/ Super Plasticizer Concrete Admixture:

Plasticizers are the admixtures used to mix in cement to improve their qualities and make them suitable for construction. It is added to concrete to help reduce the water content in concrete by 12% to upwards of 30% and help increase its workability. To help produce flowing, self-levelling concrete or improve workability without the addition of extra water. To improve and enhance the strength of concrete without increasing the cement content. It’s help improve the bond strength and adhesion to surfaces. It’s reduces the water/cement ratio without any effect on workability and increases setting time. It allows transit mixers to transport concrete too long distances.

 HYDRASET-FREE non Chloride Concrete Admixture:

HYDRASET-FREE non-chloride concrete set accelerator is a ready-to-use, liquid admixture. It accelerates initial setting time one to three times faster than normal for mortar and concrete. HYDRASET-FREE improves workability and strength while it hastens the hydration of cement.

 Calcium Nitrite Corrosion Inhibiting Concrete Admixture:

Calcium nitrite is often used in cementing applications. As a cementing additive, it is used to improve the strength of concrete and mortar. In construction, calcium nitrate and calcium nitrite can be used to help reduce shrinkage and cracking and increase the water resistance and durability of cement-based products.

 Polycarboxylic Ether (PCE) Concrete Admixture:

It’s a unique combination of the latest generation superplasticisers admixture. Polycarboxylate Ethers improve the rheology of concrete through the dispersion of particles. Consequently, the water consumption in the mix proportion of concrete is reduced, leading to an improvement.

 Integral Waterproofing Admixture:

Integral Waterproofing Admixture Integral crystalline waterproofing technology is a key component for producing durable, watertight concrete. It is internal to the concrete and reacts, in the presence of moisture, to form insoluble crystalline products to: Reduce concrete permeability. It’s regarding the benefits of using integral waterproofing admixtures in construction, such as improved resistance to cracking, reduced maintenance costs, and enhanced durability. Integral waterproofing offers a number of advantages over coatings and membranes. For instance, integral waterproofing can’t be torn or damaged during backfill, and will not delaminate, decompose or wear out.
