Please see the attached photos. The main breaker can be located at the top or bottom of the panel. The area surrounding the main breaker on the panel cover MUST be RAISED or FLAT, as shown in the photos. If you have a DEPRESSED area surrounding the main breaker, you need an NCH-200 Interlock Kit instead. This interlock kit meets the requirements of Article 702 of the National Electric Code ANSI/NFPA 70. NEVER back feed a breaker panel without a generator breaker interlock kit. Doing so could easily energize utility lines with very high voltages that could easily be lethal to a lineman or other utility worker. Be safe and do the right thing.
